About the classes

 

All classes are held at Unit 15, The Arches, Park Road, Hartlepool, TS24 7PW

 

Babbling Babies for 3 – 12 months old

Join us to begin the journey of very early communication and language! Through rhymes, stories and sensory experiences, we will focus on developing the attention and communication of your little one. You also get to meet other parents and have a cup of tea – and enjoy it whilst its hot! 

 

Tiddlers for 1 & 2 year olds

Explore the world of songs and stories through a range of activities like messy play, arts and crafts, play dough and construction to name a few! All while developing core communication and language skills like listening and attention, building our memory and fine and gross motor skills.

 

Pre-school for 3 & 4 year olds 

Begin your adventure into reading and writing with Story the Frog! Through stories, songs and a wide range of activities to engage, children will build up their pre-reading and writing skills all while having fun and growing a love for stories.

Bullfrogs and Hoppers for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2

A drop-off session where children will develop their reading and writing skills through a combination of stories, songs, movement and play. They won’t even realise they are learning!

 

Remarkable Readers Club for Year 3 to Year 6 

This class is for those children who love reading, listening to and telling stories! Each term, the children will decide upon the theme of our club and will then explore and share stories, take part in activities and give their thoughts on the stories they are reading for pleasure.

 

Creative Writing Camp for Year 3 to Year 6 

Our fantastic writing sessions are all about having a go, creating stories that they love and want to share, and doing so in a playful way.

This is writing for the LOVE of it (no rules like school) – igniting their passion for writing again.

About the teacher - Kay

Hello everyone, I am Kay and I am

absolutely thrilled to be bringing Story Frog

classes to Hartlepool.

 

Since I was a little girl, I have had a huge

passion for stories and I always wanted to

become a teacher. I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience working across all year groups, teaching 3-year-olds through to 11 year-olds.

 

I have two great passions that form the foundations of my approach to teaching and learning; play and the great outdoors! I recently gained my Coastal School Leader qualification, so keep your eyes peeled for seaside Story Frog sessions. 

 

At home, I am mam to three boys aged 9, 12 and 16 who keep me on my toes, and when they were younger, I loved attending play-based classes with them and seeing their little personalities flourish. 

 

At Story Frog sessions, your child will experience creative and sensory play alongside stories and rhymes, all of which will give them the foundations to develop their skills of reading, writing and inspire their imaginations. I believe learning should be exciting and appropriate to the individual. Best, and most importantly of all, your child (and you) will have FUN! 

 

I am so excited to be on this journey with The Story Frog and I would love for you and your child to be part of the adventure.
